約2ヶ月の休み明けになるとはいえBushfireが真逆の大敗。
Teammateを抑えて内枠からBushfireが先頭に立ち、強いペースで飛ばしました。これについていってるのはTeammateだけで、バックストレッチではTeammateと3番手Wild Fitの間隔が5馬身と開いています。しかし3,4コーナーでBushfireは後退し、替わってTeammateが先頭。徐々に進出していたPine IslandがTeammateの後に付け、Bushfireを含む後続は置き去りにされます。そして直線で最後にTeammateを交わしたPine IslandがGIを連勝。Teammateも前走とここと逃げて良いレースをしていると思います。この一戦でPine Islandが3歳牝馬のトップをBushfireから奪ったとは言えるかと思います。
一方でBushfireはいくらなんでも自分から逃げてつぶれるなよというレースであり、これではBCは厳しいでしょう。一叩きして状況が良くなれば良いんですけどね。
